How to Play April Fowl’s Day: Pidgey Pandemonium
Who hasn’t transferred a fair number of Pidgeys over to Professor Willow’s lab? They are rather easy to catch, which means they are among the Pokémon companions easy to have too many of.
It’s no surprise then that the Pokémon GO April Fowl’s Day event you can play is Pidgey Pandemonium. As the name implies, it is only during April Fool’s Day. So, if you want to enjoy yourself, you had best get in the game fast.
Simply log in and you can participate.
During the time, there’s an increase in Pidgey encounters, Shiny and normal, in the wild.
Beyond that, April Fowl’s Day Pidgey Pandemonium lets you start to play the Special Research in Pokémon GO until 11:59 PM local time on April 1st.

- Catch 10 Pokémon
- Transfer 10 Pokémon
- Make 5 Nice Throws
Overall Rewards: 1000 Stardust | 5 Razz Berries | Pidgey Encounter
April Fowl’s Day: Pidgey Pandemonium Special Research Step 2 of 2:
- Claim Reward: 10 Ultra Balls
- Claim Reward: 5 Hyper Potions
- Claim Reward: 3500 XP
Overall Rewards: 3000 Stardust | 15 Pidgey Candy | Pidgey Encounter

Beyond the Special Research, there is also Field Research tasks at PokéStops. When you complete them, you are rewarded with more Pidgey encounters.
Other than Pidgey encounters increasing during April Fowl’s Day Pidgey Pandemonium in Pokémon GO, you can also play for a chance to catch XXL and XXS Pidgeys.
There is no doubt that this is a pretty fun way for you to add to your Pidgey collection. Or perhaps, if your collection is already far too large, you can simply use the event as an excuse to have some fun and transfer even more Pidgeys to Professor Willow. It comes in handy if you have a Pidgey or two you want to evolve. The more you transfer, the more Pidgey candies you’ll stock up on to evolve and level up.
