Monster Hunter: World was the most successful release in 2018. It saw a four-year increase in sales. This entry in the franchise has sold a record 21 million units if you include the Iceborne expansion.

Capcom noted that Sunbreak is not the endpoint but a milestone in the franchise’s history. Capcom intends to support Monster Hunter Rise with more free content and increase sales via ongoing promotions and pricing strategies.

The press release concludes, “The company will continue leveraging its digital strategy in the future. aiming to maximize unit sales with ongoing promotions including the continual release of free additional content.” Capcom is committed to meeting all users’ expectations by leveraging its world-leading game development capabilities.
